Mosquito Spraying

The City of Beatrice provides City-wide mosquito spraying during the summer months to help control the adult population. Spraying locations and frequency are determined by use of light traps. Light traps are used for evaluating mosquito population numbers and species identification. This information can then be used to determine when and where it is necessary to spray.  For information regarding West Nile, see the West Nile FAQs.

Misting Schedule 

Zone 1

Hoyles Trailer Court and everything west of 6th Street and everything south of Caldwell Street.

Zone 2

Everything north of Caldwell Street and east of 6th Street.

Zone 1 is sprayed one evening between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight, and Zone 2 is sprayed the following evening between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight.  This schedule will be followed, weather permitting.

We advise local beekeepers to take necessary precautions to protect their bee hives.
