Clean City Event

April 20-22, 2026


The City of Beatrice offers a free large item pickup event once per year. This service is available to residential properties located within the Beatrice City limits.  To participate, you must register no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026. Items will be collected only on the day designated for your area. 

Set-Out Guidelines:

  • Place acceptable items curbside in front of your street address. There will be no alley collection.
  • Items must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled large item collection day.
  • Do not place items at the curb prior to Friday, April 17, 2026.
  • The City of Beatrice Street Department will collect up to one (1) truckload per residence.

Acceptable Items:

This service is for large, heavy items only. The following items are acceptable for the Clean City collection:

  • Large appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.)
  • Furniture (couches, recliners, dressers, etc.)
  • Rolled carpet
  • Push-style Lawnmowers (gas/oil drained)
  • Exercise equipment
  • Burn/trash barrels (must be empty)

Unacceptable Items:

Mattresses and box springs will not be collected at the curb. Residents may dispose of mattresses and box springs at the City Compost Site free of charge during the three (3) days of the Clean City Event. The site is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. You must present a current driver's license as proof of residency before mattresses and/or box springs will be accepted.

Other unacceptable items include:

  • Brush, logs, tree stumps, leaves, grass
  • Tires, batteries, gas cans, propane tanks
  • Household hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, oil, pesticides, etc.)
  • Construction materials (lumber, drywall, shingles, concrete blocks, wood pallets, etc.)
  • Bagged/boxed garbage or any item that will fit in your MARS waste cart with the lid closed

The City of Beatrice reserves the right to refuse an item if it is not within the program's intent or is considered unreasonable. Items left at the curb after your scheduled collection day are considered unacceptable. 

Clean City Schedule:

The City of Beatrice Street Department will provide a large item collection throughout the City according to the following schedule. Remember, you must register to add your address to the collection schedule. You may download a route map below.

  • Monday, April 20, 2026: Addresses east of 6th Street, south of Dorsey Street, north of Court Street, and west of 19th Street
  • Tuesday, April 21, 2026: Hoyle's Trailer Park and all addresses west of 6th Street
  • Wednesday, April 22, 2026: Addresses south of Court Street, east of 6th Street, and east of 19th Street
