Sanitation Collection Driver

The City of Beatrice is accepting applications for a full time Sanitation Collection Driver in the Sanitation Department.  Starting hourly rate is $19.37, plus benefits.  Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
• Must possess a Class B CDL with air brakes or be able to obtain one within sixty (60) days of hire. The City will provide training for a CDL if you do not currently have one.
• One (1) or more years of related experience or training on refuse vehicles preferred.
• General equipment experience, including dump trucks and fork lifts preferred.
• Technology experience preferred.
• Welding experience beneficial.

Essential job functions:

• Operate and perform preventative maintenance on automated sanitation vehicles;
• Load and unload dumpsters;
• Complete daily route in a timely manner;
• Wash and fuel truck daily;
• Operate various types of light to heavy equipment;
• Perform walk around inspections on vehicles prior to operation;
• Perform maintenance and placement of collection containers; 
• Assist with recycling operations; 
• May be required to work extended hours; and
• Must be punctual and able to report to work within thirty-five (35) minutes, if called.
