Special Olympics

The Beatrice Police Department continues to partner with our Special Olympics Community to advocate for acceptance and inclusion. 

Annual Highlights:

• In March, the athletes and officers play an annual basketball scrimmage. 
• In May, officers and members of the community rally around the athletes for The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). The weather doesn’t always cooperate, but that doesn’t stop a proper send-off for the athletes’ summer games.
• In June, the community and Casey’s General Stores in Beatrice participate in a fundraising campaign for the LETR program. Beatrice has two stores that remain in the top 5 stores throughout the entire state.
   

The Beatrice Police Department would like to graciously thank the community for their partnership with us and the Special Olympics Community. This partnership, raising awareness, and fundraising help provide opportunities for the athletes and support them in their everyday lives.
