SWAT Team
The Beatrice SWAT team was formed in the mid 1980’s to respond to high-risk incidents. The unit is made up of Beatrice Police Department personnel and Beatrice Fire and Rescue personnel. The SWAT team is tasked with resolving hostage situations, barricaded subjects, the service of high-risk search and arrest warrants, or any incident requiring specialized equipment or tactics.
The SWAT team has consolidated training with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office SOG team in the hopes of creating a unified team in the future with the ability to deploy county wide. SWAT also acquired an armored emergency vehicle through the 1033 Federal Surplus Program.
