Stuff The Cruiser is a toy drive event that allows children in Beatrice and the surrounding area to receive Christmas gifts. The Beatrice Police Department held its 8th annual Stuff the Cruiser event in 2023. This event is held over the last weekend of November. The Department partners with the YMCA and Walmart for this event. Officers, department officials, family members, and YMCA staff come out and help man the Mobile Command Bus and meet community members.
In 2023, the community donated hundreds of toys and monetary donations. These toys and donations are delivered by the Beatrice Police Department to the YMCA. The YMCA, along with several other service organizations, then put on a holiday party for these children and their families, allowing them to enjoy a special time as they receive their gifts. For the 2023 event, service organizations identified 150 families to receive gifts, with over 600 children in those families.
