The Community Connections event is held in September. Officers, dispatcers, and support staff meet with members of the public to gather information for those with special needs which is used to assist during emergency responses. Officers connect with the public by participating in relay games with the Special Olympics Teams and Beatrice High School students. Many community agencies are also invited and are able to promoted their services to the public. An estimated 150 youth participants were served during the 2019 event.
