The City Compost Site is located at 3426 West Locust Road, 2 miles South on Hwy 77 and 1 mile West. The City Compost Site is open April 1st thru November 30th, Monday thru Saturday, and is closed Sunday.
Hours:
April - September: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
October: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
November: Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
December - March: By appointment only, pending weather conditions
**If the gate is closed, please check-in at the landfill**
The Compost Site is closed on the following holidays:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- The day after Thanksgiving Day
There is no charge to Gage County residents to load the available compost by themselves. A Landfill Operator can load the compost for you for a minimal charge. Operator loading hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. only. Only cash is accepted, in the exact amount.
Yard waste (grass and leaves) may be dropped off at the Compost Site at no charge.
