Operating Budget

The City of Beatrice's fiscal year runs from October 1st to September 30th.

The City has adopted a biennial budget since October 1, 2013, when the Nebraska Legislature amended the Nebraska Budget Act.  The City still holds an annual public hearing regarding the current fiscal year's budget.  During the public hearing, the Mayor and City Council have a budget review where they examine the expenditures and revenues of the first year of the biennial budget and make any necessary changes.  A copy of the adopted budget statement, along with the amount of the tax required to fund the adopted budget is also filed with and certified to the levying board and the Auditor of Public Accounts annually.
