Beatrice Plus

The Beatrice Plus Advisory Board reviews applications submitted by citizens and entities in Beatrice requesting Beatrice Plus funds for community betterment projects.  The Board consists of 7 members; 1 member of the City Council, 1 member of the Beatrice Board of Public Works, 1 citizen residing in each of the 4 wards of the city, and 1 at large member who resides in the city.

The Beatrice Plus program is a contribution program where Beatrice Board of Public Works customers’ bills are rounded up to the nearest dollar.  The average customer contribution is approximately $6.00 per year.  The additional contribution goes to the Beatrice Plus program, which provides funds for community betterment projects.  Some of the most recent projects funded by Beatrice Plus include:  the Sertoma Splash Pad at Sertoma Astro Park, StoryWalk at Trailhead Park, and the Indoor Batting Facility at Hannibal Park.  Funding has been approved for the Beatrice Civic Garden Club to make improvements to the Bandstand on West Court Street, Beatrice Community Preschool for the installation of a handicap accessible playground at the Preschool, and Little Angels for a memorial for babies laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.

Customers wishing to "opt out" of the Beatrice Plus program may do so by completing the Beatrice Plus Opt Out Request form.  Customers who choose to "opt out" and wish to enroll again, may do so at any time.
