Beatrice Plus is a voluntary donation program designed to raise
additional funds for community programs and projects that are not
currently supported by the City budget.
The Board of Public Works assists in the collection process for
Beatrice Plus by providing customers the opportunity each month to
voluntarily donate one dollar to this City program.
If each of the 5500 BPW customers would add just one dollar each
month, Beatrice Plus would receive $66,000 annually for this program
to be applied to approved projects. It's your chance to help
beautify and strengthen Beatrice. Again, Beatrice Plus is strictly
voluntary.
A public-private Beatrice Plus Advisory Board each year
identifies community projects that will receive the contributions.
The goal is to give citizens a chance to "step-up" to help their
community through this voluntary donation process.

BPW bill. Simply pay the "Total including Beatrice Plus donation" as
listed on you bill and $1 will be automatically donated to Beatrice
Plus.
What if I want to donate more than $1 per month to Beatrice Plus?
If you would like to donate more than $1 to this program, please
send a check made payable to "Beatrice Plus" to the City of
Beatrice, 400 Ella Street, Beatrice, Nebraska,68310. These donations
can also be used as tax deductions. Your check will be your receipt.
How will my donation help the community?
Your donation will be distributed among special community projects
and programs that have been identified as beneficiaries of this
program.
What kinds of projects are considered?
There are many needs and desires in our community. Not all of
these projects or programs can be funded by the City budget.
Beatrice Plus includes special projects and programs that are not
included in the regular City budget. Projects and programs intended
to touch the lives of a large number of citizens, particularly low
income residents, receive high priority. This voluntary program aims
to be an augmentation of tax funds, not a substation of taxes, to
enhance our community.
Who decides which projects benefit from donations to Beatrice
Plus?
The Beatrice Plus Advisory Board, a public-private entity of six
members appointed by the Mayor, studies and recommends projects to
benefit from this voluntary donation program.
Why doesn't the City fund these programs?
The City of Beatrice currently provides money for many community
projects, but the need is far greateer than what the City can
provide. This is why we need your help!
